Police are probing a number of key incidents in the Edinburgh gang wars, with the feud having spread to Glasgow amid one of the country’s most dangerous organisations being linked with the carnage. The conflict has seen a number of firebombing incidents.

Homes, properties and businesses linked to caged cocaine kingpin Mark Richardson have been targeted. Last night a chilling new video emerged of an attack, with the unidentified hoods behind the clip name-checking the Glasgow-based Daniel crime clan as being embroiled in the tit-for-tat war.

Here we take a look at the main incidents officers from Police Scotland are investigating. The force are currently seeking to bring the carnage to an end and the crazed firebugs behind it to justice.

Albert Street

The Belle Cheveux beauty salon, in Edinburgh’s Albert Street, was torched by a masked thug at around 2.30am on Thursday, March 6. A hooded thug was captured on camera throwing a molotov cocktail into the property.

Eskmills Road

A warehouse unit in the Musselburgh street was targeted at around 12.30am on Tuesday, March 11. The structure of the building was hollowed out by the flames which ripped through the premises.

The fire was also so fierce that the roof caved in and nine appliances and around 45 firefighters were sent to battle the blaze.

Milton Road East

A garage in the Portobello street went up in flames on Sunday, March 16. Firefighters were scrambled to the seaside suburb and battled for three and a half hours to contain the blaze.

Marischal Crescent

On Thursday, March 20, three gun shots were aimed at a property in the street, in Edinburgh’s Niddrie area. The incident took place in the early hours of the morning and was again caught on camera, in terrifying footage.

The clip, shared with the Record, showed a thug, dressed in black, approaching the property and firing the weapon.

West Pilton Bank

The following day, Friday, March 21, another shooting took place. The of a ground floor flat in the Edinburgh street was shot at at around 7.55am.

Police stood guard outside the property and placed a large cordon around the flat. They moved to assure residents living in fear in the area.

Following the two shootings police confirmed they believed both were ‘targeted’ attacks between two warring crime gangs.

Hay Drive 1

On Sunday, March 23, a balaclava-clad yob hurled a petrol bomb through a window at a property in the street. The property, in Edinburgh’s Niddrie area, was targeted at around 4.30am on the day in question.

A chilling clip video clip was circulated online afterwards showing a series of attacks on properties allegedly linked to Richardson. The minute-long footage has the Motown song ‘Nowhere to Run, Nowhere to Hide’ playing in the background.

At the end, a message appears stating: “This is a message to anyone associated with Mark Richardson. We are only just getting started. We are coming for all of yous””

Hay Drive 2

In the early hours of Friday, April 4, morning, the Hay Drive property was targeted again – for the second time in 12 days.

This time the blaze spread to the house next door, with a dozen firefighters battling the aftermath. As well as the roof damage, the windows also appear blackened with smoke.

An eyewitness said: “Someone bombed our neighbour’s house. They bombed the same house twice, 12 days apart. A family with a small child live in the house next door. They went to safety.”

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed they attended the blaze.

Kelvinside Motor Company

The latest footage shows Kelvinside Motor Company, at Milton Road in Kirkintilloch, being torched by firebugs at around 3.10am yesterday, Friday, April 4, 2025.

A hooded thug was captured on camera sneaking into the used car showroom and setting fire to a number of vehicles which were parked on the forecourt of the garage.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.10am on Friday, April 4, officers were made aware of a fire at a premises in Milton Road, Kirkintilloch.

“Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished. There were no reports of any injuries. The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.”

The Feud

The feud is said to have started after crooks linked to Richardson stole a drug stash worth hundreds of thousands of pounds which belonged to a Dubai-based Mr Big.

And a message at the end of the newest video to emerge calls for ‘everyone in Scotland’ to “fight against Mark Richardson and the Daniels family”. The footage also showed a house door in Glasgow being doused in petrol by a hooded man before being lit on fire. It then cuts to Friday’s Hay Driver firebombing incident.

The video ended: “These rats have been thieving for a long time. It’s time for people to stand together as one and remove this vermin from our streets. Tamo Junto.”

‘Tamo Junto’ is a Brazilian-Portuguese phrase that translates to “we’re together” or “we’re in this together” and the video contained a symbol showing a fanged skull painted with the saltire, set against two crossed guns. It reads “TMJ 2025”.

Detective Superintendent Paul Grainger said previously: “We would urge anyone with information, or anyone with dash-cam, doorbell footage or personal footage, to review it and get in touch with officers.”

Richardson was jailed for eight years and nine months in 2018 for possessing a loaded Glock handgun. He was one of nine men jailed for a total of almost 90 years for his role in drugs and arms plots.
