Moment Edinburgh shopkeeper ‘attacked’ after ‘theft’ at train station
The clip, filmed by a passerby, appeared to show a female youth in an altercation with a worker at a tourist shop.
Shocking footage has captured the moment a teenager allegedly attacked a shopkeeper at Edinburgh Waverley Station. The clip, filmed by a passerby, appeared to show a female youth in an alleged altercation with a worker at a tourist and merchandise shop on the steps leading to the station at around 6pm on Friday.
Some of the postcards and stock can be seen on the floor as people try and intervene to bring an end to the alleged incident. However, as reported by Edinburgh Live, the teen appears to continue to approach the man several times before seemingly kicking out and striking him with her hand as multiple people call the police for help.
The alleged incident took place at the busy commuter hub as shocked on-lookers can be seen watching on as they pass. It is alleged a theft from the shop took place before officers were alerted to the altercation.
A spokesperson for the force confirmed they received a report of theft and an assault at a premises within Waverley Mall and a 12-year-old girl was charged in connection.
They added: “At 6pm on Friday, April 4, 2025 we received a report of theft and assault at a premises in Waverley Mall, Edinburgh.
“A 12-year-old female youth was charged in connection and will be reported to the relevant authorities”
Elsewhere, in an unrelated incident, chilling footage emerged showing thugs firebombing a number of targets as Edinburgh’s gang war spread to Glasgow. The video also appeared to include a gang name for the group behind the violence.
The capital has been plagued with a number of violent incidents in recent weeks after a feud erupted between rival gangs.
The feud is believed to have started after Edinburgh cocaine kingpin Mark Richardson’s cronies stole a stash of cocaine worth hundreds of thousands of pounds from a Mr Big who has been muscling in on the drug scene in the city.
The new footage directly called out the notorious Daniel clan from Glasgow, who are long term associates of Mark Richardson. A message at the end of the video calls for ‘everyone in Scotland’ to ‘fight against Mark Richardson and the Daniels family’
The footage showed a house door in Glasgow being doused in petrol by a hooded man before being lit on fire.
It then cut to a firebombing incident at Hay Drive in Edinburgh in the early hours of Friday morning, where a petrol bomb was flung through a window, causing a massive blaze inside.
The footage then showed a deliberate fireraising at Kelvinside Motor Company at Milton Road in the Kirkintilloch at around 3.10am on Friday.
A hooded thug can be seen sneaking into the garage in Kirkintilloch and setting fire to a number of vehicles on the forecourt of the used-cars showroom.
Cops confirmed they are treating the fire at Kelvinside Motor Company as wilful.
The video then ends with a chilling warning for the Daniel clan.
