Woman horrified as date makes cannibal confession – then does something unexpected
A woman has shared her dating experience after she matched with a man on a dating app who made a terrifying confession to her while they were on their first date
Venturing into the dating scene can certainly lead to some peculiar encounters.
Anyone who’s dabbled in dating apps will attest that not every match is a potential soulmate. Perhaps your musical tastes clash, or political differences make a relationship untenable. However, one woman’s experience on dating apps took an even stranger turn when a man revealed a “creepy” secret fantasy to her.
Hannah Davies shared the bizarre tale on her TikTok account after a follower requested to hear it – and it’s quite a story.
The woman started by setting the scene, explaining that the events unfolded in 2019, shortly after she ended a long-term relationship. The split prompted her to explore dating apps for the first time, but having been in a relationship since her teenage years, she admitted she “didn’t know” how to navigate the dating world.
She eventually matched with a man she found “sexy”, and after exchanging messages daily for about two weeks, he suggested they meet at a pub near Hannah’s place, to which she agreed.
However, she noticed his behaviour “did get a little bit weirder” in the run-up to their date, including him sending her “full-body nudes”. Hannah initially dismissed his peculiar behaviours as part and parcel of modern dating experiences but proceeded with the date regardless.
She recounted how he told her he was a vegan, but he stated he wasn’t bothered if she ate meat, as long as it wasn’t in his presence. Bearing this in mind, Hannah went ahead and ordered cheesy garlic mushrooms when they eventually met, which led to him “yelling” at her.
She described the unsettling incident: “He shouted at me in the pub, surrounded by people. This was within the first 10 minutes of our date, and he shouted at me. He went on to lecture me about how eating cheese is basically torturing animals. So by eating cheesy garlic mushrooms, I was basically murdering animals.”
However, the tirade on dairy products wasn’t even the oddest moment of the encounter. Later, he began sharing his bucket list with Hannah, revealing an alarming desire despite his dietary choices – he wants “to consume human flesh”.
She added: “At this point, I was like, ‘Hmm, maybe this isn’t how normal dates work, maybe this is a red flag’. So I did go home, and I did not go on another date with him.”
Sharing the unexpected thing he did next, she added: “I don’t know if he’d had too many drinks and didn’t remember what he said, but he was genuinely confused about why I wouldn’t want a second date with him.”
After hearing about Hannah’s baffling date experience, the comments section flooded with shock and disbelief. Many highlighted the paradox of her date’s stance on consuming animal meat versus human flesh. Commenters were stunned she remained on the date for the duration but agreed it resulted in a great anecdote.
A commenter empathised: “Love that you just kinda stayed for the plot. I can’t blame you. Also, as a vegan, I’m so sorry.” Another quipped amusingly: “Animal flesh bad, people flesh yummy. I don’t think that will catch on as the vegan society’s new motto.”
Surprisingly, British law does not expressly ban cannibalism. However, a person would be charged with murder if they took a person’s life for the purpose of consuming their flesh.
Eating a deceased person’s flesh might escape legal designation but may fall foul of other offences, particularly if considered offensive or demeaning.
The bizarre gap in the law was highlighted in 1988 when artist Rick Gibson consumed donated human tonsils on Walthamstow High Street. As the tonsils were obtained legally, he could not be charged with any crime.
