Two men charged after ‘£250k of cannabis and six-figure sum’ uncovered in Cumbernauld

Lanarkshire police have arrested and charged two men after a £250,000 farm was discovered in Cumbernauld. Officers acting under warrant raided properties on Millcroft Road at around 10.45pm on Tuesday, April 1. A cannabis cultivation of 65 plants with an estimated street value of between £200,000 and £250,000 was uncovered along with a six-figure sum of cash.

The accused, aged 50 and 55, are due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court today (Thursday, April 3.) Area Inspector Barry Maguire said: “Drugs cause misery in our communities and Police Scotland is committed to bringing those responsible for the supply and sale of illegal substances to justice. “This result underscores our commitment to the Serious and Organised Crime Taskforce and highlights our efforts to disrupt the activities of those involved. “The public has a vital part in helping us to target and trace those involved and we encourage anyone with information or concerns to contact us via 101, or make a call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
